Baldcypress (Taxodium distichum) grows in the swampy areas of the Southeastern United States - from Georgia and the Carolinas into Texas. Careful forestry management ensures that this cypress resource will be continuously renewed.
It is said that the oldest living thing on earth is a cypress tree at Rio del Tulle, Mexico, estimated to be 5,000 to 7,000 years old.
